The desire to create visual accompaniment to music has been
David Frain's
fantasy ever since his first exposure to progressive, classical, electronic,
experimental, and psychedelic music. Initially being inspired by the early
music
of Yes, Tangerine Dream, and other progressive pioneers, coupled with the
awe
of visual works by Salvador Dali, Maurits Cornil Escher, and Roger Dean,
it seems almost too perfect of a co-incidence that Frain and Farpoint were
to
cross paths. The relationship has grown from sharing humble ink drawings,
to designing album covers, layouts, web imagery, and even music-video
collaboration. What Frain sees in his mind is inspired directly from his
perception
of music. And the music of Farpoint is immeasureably more than inspirational.
The history of the art of Farpoint can be explored here.
